The Artist
Ina Kantike

Born and raised in Latvia, Ina Kantike is a painter whose work lives at the intersection of intimacy and abstraction. Her canvases breathe with layered oils, muted flesh tones giving way to sudden bursts of magenta, cobalt, and gold. Each piece is less a depiction than a feeling held still.

Trained in the rich tradition of Latvian figurative art, Ina has steadily carved her own visual language. Her subjects dissolve into gesture. Faces turn away. Bodies emerge from shadow only to retreat again, leaving behind traces of warmth and quiet tension.

When she is not painting, Ina is exploring. From the sun-bleached terraces of the Mediterranean to the lush green stillness of the Baltic countryside, she draws endlessly from the world around her. Travel, texture, light, a meal shared with friends, the weight of an afternoon — it all finds its way onto the canvas.
